We are οn the beach front by the small fishing harbour in the village of Makry Gialos.
Makry Gialos ( Makrygialo, Makry Gialos, Μακρύ Γιαλός ) is in the southeast part of
the Island of Crete, 25 Km East of Ierapetra,
and 35 Km South of Sitia town, in the Lassithi area.
Before Olympio became a cafe, it used to be a storehouse and after that the home of my parents-in-law.
It is made of stone, built in 1936. We renovated it and converted it to a cafe bar in 1996 with a nice terrace under the old tamarisk trees with a view of the bay and the Libyan Sea.
Dimitris and Hara Kakouri offer you everything you may need during the hot days & nights of the summer.
We are open from the early morning until late at night every day, from April to October.
We serve Breakfast all day, Greek Snacks, Yogurt honey, Toasted Sandwiches, Omelettes, Fresh Salads, and Pizza for lunch or dinner. Coffees, Fresh fruit juices and salads, Deserts, Ice Creams, Cold Beers (Mythos Draught), Wines & All sort of Spirits, Milk shakes, Long drinks & Cocktails.
